60% OF FAUNA GONE IN THE LAST 40 YEARS!!!!

Let's say i was shocked to say the least. Since i have been waking up early every morning for the last 2 months, i made the mistake of checking the news on TV.
Believe me it's a nice way to give you the blues for the rest of the day. Add a bit of rain, a rope and an empty bottle of Jack Daniels and it would be almost easy to say "fuck it i'm done".
BUT BUT BUT BUT :
This morning, what a surprise : paradoxically the saddest news of all, which in all honestly has made me cry was a fucking wake up call : 60% OF FAUNA GONE IN THE LAST 40 YEARS!!!!
As my days are usually spent wallowing in self-hatred, feeling of shame, guilt, anxiety and all that good stuff, as sad as this news was, it felt like a calling : The world has hit rock bottom, i haven't but i am on my way too, so basically what do i have to lose. Maybe this message will be shared enough times to spark a tiny glitter of hope but my logic is : If  a heroin addict failing to get purpose in his life can make enough changes in his life so he doesn't affect the environment and even lead to actions like cleaning up beaches(for example...), why couldn't others?

Without doing anything as demanding as cleaning up a beach,  there are some easy things to do which might even spare you some  money :

-COOK!! Buy local, don't buy too much so there is no waste, go for the (HEALTHY!;)) food you like the most, so if make too much you can microwave your way easily into the week without losing any time and enjoy your favourite meal as much as you like.

-BUY VEGETABLES FROM YOUR SEASON: you would be amazed if you knew how much fuel it costs to bring you an ananas in New Hampshire in Winter(I would be too, i have no idea besides it's amazingly uncool)

-BUY FROM THE PRODUCER : Not easy depending on where you live, but someplaces you can even pick up fruits yourself, do so if you have the opportunity. Plus it makes for a nice afternoon between buddies.

-DONT HESITATE TO ASK FOR WASTE/UNSOLD GOODS : I mean a bakery often has LOTS of stuff they don't use and are as tasty as 12 hours before. They will be glad to sell you their stuff at a fraction of the price, or might even give it to you. Give around if they gave you too much.
PLUS : you can do the same in pretty much every bakery, but also you can ask your butcher(at least some free food for your animals,...way better than the shitty industrialized shit they eat. Plus if they eat it usually it means it's also good to eat for you(check this one out though..). Idem applies for fish.

-PLANT : Remember those sweet 16 when you managed to produce bud even tough the conditions were fair from optimal? So use this spot(unless there is still some weed growing, in that case my bad), but otherwise you can plant origano, small tomatoes, whatever grows!(just check : some plants don't like the company of others, have a pot for each species to be safe)

-DON'T FLY TOO MUCH: i know, this one really sucks. But nowadays there are great bus services around Europe, i have never taken a Greyhound during my time in the US so i cannot speak for there, but you can go from Geneva to Prague for less than 100 euros(return included of course)

-EAT LESS MEAT : this one sucks as well. The good thing is vegetarianism is inventive, and will bring you new tastes from other cultures. Check the source of your meat, as for vegetables the most local is usually your best option.

-BUY RECHARGABLE BATTERIES: and take your used ones to a recycle bin

-DOWNLOAD YOUR MOVIES/TV SHOWS : the streaming cost is completely hallucinating. From memory just a Google search is worth 2-3GW/h(correct me if i'm wrong) so if you have a netflix subscription(or else) put that on your HD, avoiding servers overload and this annoying icon telling you it's buffering.

-RECYCLE RECYCLE RECYCLE!!!

-USE CAR SHARING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

-ADD STUFF I HAVENT THOUGHT ABOUT IN THE COMMENTS: I'll add them to this list as needed
